Decorating Your House into an Art Gallery

Author: Caitlina Fuller

Have you ever seen homes in person or on television that were absolutely stunning and decorated with beautiful oil paintings? If you have you probably thought that you would love for your home to look just as beautiful but there is no way you can afford one original artwork much less several Van Gogh paintings. And guess what? Neither can most anyone else but they can afford art reproductions! Art reproductions are simply remakes of the original artwork so it looks like you have a Monet or a Van Gogh but what you really have is a copy that looks as good as the real thing! Now with this information you will be ready to start some home decorating of your very own!

The best way to start decorating your home is to decide how you want your home to look. Incorporating an art gallery of your own is really not that difficult to do if you just start with a goal and then see it through. For example, you should choose a particular room or hall where you want to display the artwork. Once you have chosen the area in your house that would be best suited for your art gallery then you can choose a wall color that will enhance all of your oil paintings and pieces of art. This takes some consideration because you don’t want to choose a color that will make your pieces look like anything other than their very best. Most of the time a camel color or a deep cream color will provide a rich backdrop to your beautiful pieces of art.

Next, you should choose where you want to hang the artwork. You have already chosen the room in your home for the artwork but you also need to focus on how you want to layout the design. You may choose to hang all of the paintings side by side or else create an area that has one oil painting surrounded by greenery and other design elements. It really is up to you how you want your in home art gallery to appear. Just focus on creating a beautiful space and you will certainly achieve it. Remember that while you are creating your art gallery you should also decide on a certain number of pieces of art to show off so your home isn’t overwhelmed with art!
